Voddie Baucham's Last Sermon
Brother Voddie Baucham was called home to be with the Lord in the last few days. We grieve with and pray his family and local church family and Founders Seminary (including especially brother Ethan, sister Mekayla and brother Vincent as these two men just went down there to study for their theological training. And so we grieve at what was unexpected to us but known to God. And we grieve with others like us in the confessional reformed baptist world and many others beyond who admired Voddie. Praise God for Voddi's courageous faith, joyful posture and constant truth spoken in love. Praise God for brother Voddie! Please consider supporting his wife Bridget and their children during this difficult time. Brother Tom Ascol set a way to give to the Baucham family here.
Let's be praying for God's great comfort and strength to those who knew and loved Voddie best. Let's resolve to be even more faithful for Christ according to the Word of God!
Here is Voddie's last sermon that he preached. I was so encouraged (and unsurprised) to hear the biblical gospel go forth from Voddie. You can find clips where he often had tears in his eyes in awe of God's redemptive work and out of a heartfelt desire to have sinners turn and find refuge in Christ. I was also unsurprised to find in the sermon a careful precision and attention to the details of the text of God's Holy Word. I am confident you will be greatly blessed by it:

Tributes:
Here is a tribute from one of the local church pastors of Voddie's church Pastor David Mitzenmacher.
Here is a tribute from a couple brothers over at Christ Over All on Voddie: A North Star for Our Generation (including brother David Schrock who preached for us this June).
And here is a tribute I wrote at American Reformer.
There will no doubt be many wonderful tributes that come in. Voddie was a sinner saved by God's grace and praise God the Lord called and convicted Voddie of his sin that he repented of. Praise God he trusted God's perfect work and grace in the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ. Let us run our race beloved brothers and sisters and fight the good fight of faith unashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16-17).
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)
So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)
May Christ be praised! Soli Deo Gloria
