Who We Are
Christ the King Reformed Baptist Church is a confessional Reformed Baptist church seeking to glorify the one and only living, worthy and triune God. As brothers and sisters in Christ, our church family aims to honor God by making disciples of the nations according to the whole counsel of God’s sufficient written Word.
Our Story
On April 30, 1967, the First Baptist Church of Niles was organized with 14 charter members under the care of Roger McManus, who served as its first and founding pastor. From the very beginning, the church has been a confessionally Reformed Baptist church, and the Lord has been faithful over the years to supply people to meet the needs for His work to be accomplished.
Pastor Roger suffered a stroke in 2017 and 2019, and the Lord called Pastor Roger home. In October 2020, the Lord, through the First Baptist Church of Niles membership, called Pastor Brandon Myers to serve as the next Senior Pastor. Over the years, the church has supported gospel workers and ministries in nations such as the Philippines, Russia, Mexico, and India.
The church continues to eagerly desire to honor God’s Word concerning the discipling of the nations (Matthew 28:18-20). The property at which the church gathers to worship the Lord is the oldest building in the Village of Niles, and while the building was remodeled in 1976, it has retained the original external appearance.
By God’s grace in 2022, our church unanimously adopted the name Christ the King Reformed Baptist Church to communicate who we serve above all (King Jesus) and with God’s help what we confess to believe and faithfully live to God’s glory.
