Treasuring Christ by Storing Up God's Word

There is so much we could read or watch and that right now is pressing on us to be consumed...As Spurgeon once said, "visit many books, but live in the Bible"

How do we do this faithfully? It is absolutely vital that we do. Scripture protects us from sin (Psalm 119:9-11), and most important of all bears witness to and promises the coming of Christ our Savior (John 5:39). So remind yourself "I will encounter the risen Lord through His written read Word." And then commit to prioritize the written Word.

Read. Read. Read. Listen. Listen, Listen. Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. Pray. Pray. Pray. Converse. Converse. Converse (with fellow Spirit-filled believers)

Read and as you do ask the Lord to meet you and help you.

Have a plan.

Start small with some Daily Scripture Readings

Listen to the Scriptures read.

Read the Bible for personal application.

Learn to ask good questions as you read God's written Word.

Memorize Scripture-alone, a fellow church member, with your spouse, children, friend, roommate, etc.

May we feast on the Scriptures and store up God's truth in our hearts that we may not sin against him (Psalm 119:9-11), but might walk in His wisdom and treasure and exalt Christ (John 5:39) He is worthy of it all. SDG.
