Dwell on the Cross of Christ

In His Holy Word God repeatedly reveals the vitality of the cross of Jesus Christ. Consider the following:

But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2)

But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (Galatians 6:14)

and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. (Ephesians 2:16)

and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

You could spend hours upon hours, days upon days, even decades upon decades meditating on the glories of God in each of these verses about the cross (reading them in context is even more powerful and far more highly recommended). I urge you to dwell greatly on the cross of Christ Jesus our Lord and the only Savior.  Many faithful Christians have written powerfully on God's awesome unearned favor to sinners in the person and work of Christ. Robert Murray Mc'Cheyne once said, "Live within sight of Calvary and you will live within sight of glory."

Christian have you reveled in cross work of Jesus Christ? Have you praised the Lord for His grace, mercy, love, kindness, and redemptive plan on display as Christ shed His blood and died? What a Savior! What a Lord! Don't delay....dwell on and consider the cross of Christ!
